Lit for Tweens will meet on Mondays from 1:15-2:15 EST during the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
Tentative Schedule
|
Lit for Tweens Banned Book Club is for preteens, ages 10-12, grades 5-7.
Students
Lit for Tweens is designed to help tweens fall in love with books and with reading! Parents are encouraged to read the selections with their tweens. Students will be asked to read from an unabridged paperback/hardback edition for each selection.
We will primarily be reading books whose popularity has survived the age in which is was written, children's classics, and modern classics. Interestingly, these books have all also been "banned" at some point in time.
Participants must have a homeschool parent/adult at home and in the room during each Lit for Tweens class meeting to ensure that the student is focused and not multi-tasking and to assist with any computer/technical difficulties.
Students and/or parents are welcome to assign grades; however, official grades will not be given.
